CBSE's Uphill Battle To Improve 'Education System'

CBSE is on a march with an uphill battle to improve the Education system. The schools education in India has taken up a challenge to move away the traditional method from learning. All the best challenge takers in CBSE- Central Board of Secondary Education are at work in order to ensure that the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) is brought out successfully.

CBSE is now adopting new techniques as it continues to play a essential role in the Education system. CBSE is continuously experimenting on many basis to improve education system. For example CCE Programme, which was introduced in 2009 and has done really well. There aer a few areas that need to be finely tuned and can be done in an organized aspect.

Hence, for the success of CCE, CBSE requires 100% commitment, from schools, teachers, parents and stake holders. Teachers understand CCE but parents are not yet aware of its importance. Parents should come forward to support Teachers.

The Grading System : CBSE found that the merits of grading system deeply compensate the demerits if found. There is a challenge of replacing marks with grades in a system which has been primarily marks oriented and dominated. In order to over come this, we have signed a MoU to form a centre for assessment, evaluation and research. This will evaluate CBSE's examination system, undertake research on schemes implemented and those to be implemented and also develop research abased resources to help teachers.

CBSE Chairman who spoke to media on a range of issues said; It is not a vision but activities that schools should strictly follow and implement the guidelines set by CBSE. The CBSE has a monitoring system and an effective mechanism to monitor it.

There is no confusion. Parents are aware of CCE. However, their involvement in school and their child's affairs has to be more, as it would be beneficial for harnessing the full potential of CCE system. We have told the heads of schools to have interactions with parents on a regular basis. Schools should utilize the vast resource of parent interactions for quality enhancement of schools.
