By the end of the year, DTE - Directorate of Technical Education) in association with the MANIT will launch the Knowledge Mission across the state. MANIT director, Dr.Appu Kuttan said that the objective of Knowledge Mission is to make available important lecture material to students in the remote areas.
"Currently, few students have the opportunity to attend classes in big institutions. Knowledge mission will provide opportunity to all", he added. Dr.Appu Kuttan had recently met the DTE authorities in order to chalk out the plan for the Knowledge mission.
He said "Lecturer modules will be formed. These lecturer modules will be uploaded on the website. Besides all these, the modules will also be shown through projections to teach students."
Initially, to implement the Knowledge Mission, virtual class rooms and laboratories will be created in colleges. "Virtual classroom provides complete freedom of learning. The two-way live audio-video delivery, synchronous content sharing such as Power Point, recording of all sessions to be played back in flash format is the part of virtual classrooms," he explained.
