The JEE apex board on JEE Main and Advanced has come across a decision that the JEE Main exam for BE/B.Tech will be held in both Online and Offline mode of examination. The Offline mode exam will be held in 7th April, 2013 and the online exam will be held later.
The exam paper 2 of earlier AIEEE i.e. Advanced test for admission into B Arch/ B Planning courses at NIT's, IIIT's, DTU and other centrally funded technical institutes (CFTI's) will be held on April 7, 2013.
According to the Sources (JEE Apex Board), the merit list for admission to NIT's, IIIT's, DTU and other CFTI's will be prepared by giving 40% weightage (suitably normalized) to class 12 or other qualifying examination marks and 60% to the perfomance in JEE (Main) Examination.
The JEE Main 2013 will have a 3 Hr objective type question paper. The paper will consist of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The paper 2 (Advanced Test) will have one question paper consisting of math, aptitude test and drawing test as per past practice of AIEEE. The duration will be of three hours.
JEE Cut-offs Varying for different boards : According to the new IIT-JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) for the year 2013, the cut-off may vary for different boards. It will prove to be a disadvantage for students as the cut-off varies up-to 20%. Earlier, the eligibility for IIT's was that the students should have attained 60% or more in Board Exams.
