MCA Courses Seats Left Vacant in MP
The Master of Computer Application (MCA) courses seats are left vacant in colleges of Madhya Pradesh. Total of 8,000 seats are available for the MCA courses in that, only 1,330 seats have been filled.

The Director of Technical Education (DTE), Madhya Pradesh extended the last of MCA counseling from July 31 to Aug 11. This is the second time extension in the last date of counseling for admissions into 215 college across the state.

According to DTE, only six governments colleges offering MCA Courses couls manage to fill its seats completely, they include Engineering college Jabalpur, MITS Gwalior, SATI Vidisha, School of CS, DAVV Indore, SGSITS Indore, and UIT, RGPV Bhopal. In the first counseling, only 800 seats were allotted in MCA.

There are 2015 college across the state, including 67 in Bhopal, which offer MCA courses, Official records say around 80% of their students appearing for Pre MCA test every year are from the state, while the rest are from other states.

KC Jain, convener of Madhya Pradesh Association of Technical and Professional Institutes said, "Going by the past experience, we expect that the same number of seats will be filled in college level counseling which were filled during open counseling".

Jain also said," The situation was no different last year as well. May be students are finding better opportunities in other disciplines. It is becoming a trend over the last couple of years".

On the other hand, students who did not appear for the Pre MCA counseling, said that DTE should have announced the college level counseling earlier.

Shyamvir Vishwas, From Uttar Pradesh said," By extending the date, there was not any much increase in turn out of the students for MCA. Authorities are yeat to announce the college level counseling dates which means the session will be delayed again".
