RTE Students Hair Cut! NHRC Notices Karnataka Govt

RTE Students Hair Been Cut! Why?
The NHRC (National Human Rights Commission) has issued a notice to Karnataka Government reporting that authorities of a Private School in Bangalore had cut off tufts of children who belong to Economically weaker section in order to distinguish them from other category students around them.

The commission has hereby asked the Chief-Secretary to submit a report within four weeks on the allegations that the school authorities cut-off tufts of four children in order to distinguish them under the Right To Education quota seats.

According to the reports, the students of class 1 were made to stand separately humiliating them during the assembly and their lunch boxes were checked before entering their classes. Parents of these children have also appealed that the names of their wards have not been entered into the attendance register and the school makes them sit in the last benches and also no home work is given to them, said the spokesperson.

He also said that "The Commission has observed that allegations, if true, raises a serious issue of violation of the Children. While seeking a report into these allegations, the Commission has also asked the chief secretary of Karnataka to inform it on the action taken against the school authorities under the Rights of Children to free and Compulsory Education Act".

What is your opinion on this issue? Was it worth to treat children differentiating their caste/class. When Education is a 'RIGHT TO EVERY CHILD', then WHY such Difference among children.
