Career Counselling Cell Setup At Nagpur University

There may be many universities which may be providing a high quality knowledge but, what about the training to students to face the competitive world? Have every university been soughting it out?

Well, here is an University which has come forward to do so. Not just to provide a good education but also make their students eligible to face the competitive world after their college life. Nagpur University, has started a new cell for 'Career Counselling' purpose, which would help their students to score well in competitive world too.

This cell has been set up in collaboration with the University Grants Commission (UGC), which was formally announced before. It was started with a three day session for seven science departments on this Tuesday, i.e on 7th August, 2012. The session was held at Physics department for students of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Statistics. The other session of Zoology, Botany and Electronics students is being held in the botany department.

"Our students are not aware of the prospectus and fields open to them. They have not heard of magazines like current Science that carry job advertisements. They also lack communication skills. We are holding the counselling sessions at the beginning of the term to give enough opportunity to build their personality" said Sanjay Dhoble, who is a associate professor of Physics and the cell co-ordinator.
