Students Punished For Violating Examination Rules

129 Students Punished - Copying In Exam
The GTU's (Gujarat Technological University) Examination reforms committee on a meeting decided to penalize the 129 students who were found copying in the examination. This is for the second time, where committee members assigned punishments to those students for a reason on Violating exam rules and regulations and found copying.

Most of the wandering students has copied answers , either from chits brought from home, or from guides and other reference materials. None of these students were found copying using any of the electrical devices like mobile phones. An official said that three students who sneaked answer sheets used in GTU semester exams to the hostel, with the intention of writing answers on them for the next paper were given the heaviest punishment. Their results were cancelled, and are barred from appearing in the next three semester exams. Technically, they will not be allowed to write exam for one-and-a-half-years.

 

He also said that other group of 63 students, also received the punishment by the loss of exam results, as well as being debarred from writing the next semester's examination. 12 students were punished by cancelling their results of the exam they were caught on.

However, officials of GTU also said that guilty of copying will be punished, so that no student feels they can escape away after cheating.
