CBSE To Conduct NEET for MBBS Admissions
As per the advice from the Medical Council of India (MCI), Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi would like to conduct the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) for admissions in MBBS course across the country.

The state Govt has not received any instructions from the CBSE Board on conduct of NEET.

Director of Medical Education, Geetha V said, "No intimation had come from the Centre so far". The first edition of the test is expected to take on May 14, 2013.

A Total no of 31,000 MBBS Medical seats across 271 Govt Medical, 133 private and 138 public institutions will be based on the NEET Test scores, once the testing system comes into existence.

The MCI has also proposed to conduct another NEET test for Postgraduate courses.

However, The state has opposed the centre's proposal for Common Entrance Test (CET) for all engineering institutions, along with the test for IITs, NITs and IIITs.
