6,000 Students Appeared for KMAT 2012
Karnataka Private Post Graduate Colleges Association (KPPGCA), Bangalore had conducted KMAT 2012 on 22 July (Sunday). Nearly 6,000 students appeared for the test at 14 centres across the state. The test was conducted for admissions into MBA, MCA and PGDCA courses in 135 self financing colleges.

M. Prakash, Secretary, KPPGCA said "A total no of 7,366 students applied for the test whose results are used to admitting students to nearly 5,000 MBA, 3,500 MCA and 300 Postgraduate Diploma In Computer Applications (PGDCA) seats".

The Colleges Which is associated with KPPGCA use KMAT score to fill 50% of their seats and remaining 50% of seats will be filled through PGCET entrance test conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).

Around 4,000 students outside of Karnataka had registered for KMAT 2012 test, among which 20% of students failed to appear for test. Only 7% of students of Karnataka remained absent to the test.

KPPGCA Official said "students from outside Karnataka has reported well this year, although the number of examinees dropped. Nearly 7.700 students had applied for the test in 2011, with 18% remaining absent".

The KMAT 2012 results will be published on Aug 04, 2012.
