The dean of NIT Trichy Dr.N Anantharaman told TOI that "Most of them are also from Malaysia and Singapore". The counselling for B.Tech and M.Tech admissions went through the 'Online Choice Filling' option and NIT Rourkela was the co-ordinating NIT this year for Undergraduate programmes under the Centralized Counselling (CCMT-2012).
"This was the third round of counselling, and as on Wednesday, 240 students including 188 from Indian institutions were admitted. There were 814 seats on offer in the UG Programme for about 9 courses, and it was likely that around 40 students might opt out for other courses or institutions at the eleventh hour. These seats would however be filled in the spot round", said the dean of NIT Trichy, Dr.N Anantharaman.
In the last and fourth round, the students have been instructed to report at the respective NIT's in order to complete the admission process. The final "spot round" will be held between August 3 to 6 for those who are to get admissions. Well, it will be the last opportunity for students aspiring to join the NIT Trichy institution.
