CCE System To Come Up With Another Section : CBSE

CBSE Sets CCE System With New Section
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) plans to add a new section on analysis and reasoning to evaluate students of class 9 and 11 through the Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) system. It will be called problem solving assessment (PSA) and involve questions to test a student's problem-solving ability.

CBSE Chairman Vineet Joshi said: "We have decided to implement it from the next session". At present, the evaluation system for Class 9 involves two summative exams of 20 marks each and four formative exams of 10 marks each. The new criterion will fit into the third and fourth formative assessments.

A source said "The board will set up the paper for this section, unlike the school-based assessment for the rest of the papers". However, schools argued that an external question paper would "Defeat the very purpose" of bringing in the CCE.

The fourth assessment includes multiple choice questions, projects and unit tests. All these will be replaced by a PSA that tests a student's knowledge on Co-scholastic situations.

So, What do you feel about the new format invented in the evaluation system? Will it be useful for the students or will it be a burden for students. OR Will it become an exam stress in children? Start Sharing your opinion's now...
