In case of NIT-Trichy, the first round of counselling has been completed and allotments are released. The CCMT links the premium 20 NIT's in the country though admissions are processed for all the 30 NIT's following the release of Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) in February this year.
The incharge of deputy Centre, CCMT, P Palaniswamy said that NIT Trichy offered a atotal of 524 sats in the PG Programme (I.e.. 28 seats each in 18 subjects and another 20 seats in one subject). Those alloted the seats must pay an amount of Rs.10,000 as initial payment through E-Challan via online and the provisional seat allotment would be done after verifying the original certificates and testimonials of a person.
Students are free to lock as many choices of courses as they wanted, in online, said Palaniswamy. He also added that communications system and VLSI (Very Large -scale integration) were subjects that the students made a beeline for. There would be four rounds of counselling and the last would be held between July 16 and July 20.
Candidates Please note : Those who find it difficult to sail through the process of Online Choice, might approach any of the help desks available across the country. But, in Tamil Nadu, only one of the NIT, I.e... NIT-Trichy is available and regular classes for those who secured admissions in the first three rounds would begin in the third week of July. The fourth round of allotment would be held from July 25 and candidates who got allotment in the fourth round would have to directly report to their respective NIT's and a final spot round would also be held between August 3 and 6 for those who were yet to get admission.
