The affiliation fees for Commerce course at both UG and PG level has been hiked substantially. While the average fee for affiliating UG Courses has been hiked by 12% it is 13% hike for PG Courses. The deposit amount has been hiked by 9 percent.
HB Walikar the Vice Chancellor, who chaired the meeting justified the hike saying that the other Universities in the region had hiked the affiliation fee for UG courses by 72% and PG courses by 330%. However, the colleges intending to start Commerce courses at the UG level needs to pay an amount of Rs.45,000 instead of Rs.30,000. For arts and science courses the hike is from Rs.30,000 to 33,000.
And, for the PG courses to start M.Com the fees has been hiked from Rs.48,000 to Rs.1 Lakh, for MBA Rs. 48,000 to Rs.80,000 and for M.Sc its hiked from Rs.48,000 to Rs.60,000. "There has been good demand for commerce courses at both UG and PG Level and inflow of students was also high. As such the colleges can accumulate the necessary funds for payment of affiliation fees", said Walikar.
Since, the results of all UG courses have been announced the varsity shall start distributing the application forms for PG Courses from 30th of June, 2012. The respective departments have conducted their own entrance test and the admission process shall end by July 30, 2012.
