As per official announcement, first set of exam will be conducted from June 14-16 and the second part will be held from June 18-20. According to the officials, booklets and PIM numbers for online registration for GCET will be available from Punjab national Bank from June 1 to June 11. The booklets and PIN will be available in the bank till June 11, 2012. Students, however, will have to submit hard copy of the form with required documents with the varsity.
GCET follows the 'best of two' model where better of the two results of the examinations will be considered for admissions into MBA and MCA courses. A GTU official said "Students will not have to take admission in Management quota, as seats are expected to remain vacant, like last year". There are around 13,125 seats in 128 colleges for MBA and 6,430 seats in 74 colleges in MCA.
About 5,754 seats remained vacant in MBA last year. The situation was similar in 1143 seats of MCA, he added. GCET will be conducted in 25 centres of Gujarat including four in Ahmadabad. Students will be tested in English, quantitative aptitude, analytical and logical reasoning for MCA and an additional subject of general knowledge for MBA.
