Karnataka Second PU Result Analysis
Karnataka Second PU Board examination which started from 15th March ended on 5th of April. Today, the results have been declared by the Department of PU Examination, Govt of Karnataka. In a press meet, Education Minister Shri Kageri Vishweshwara Hegde, Director of PU Board Rashmi and the Secretary of Primary and Secondary Education G.Kumar Naik I.A.S together released the results.

The PU Board Examination was held in 923 centres all over the state and the process of valuation was carried out in 37 campuses - 17 centres in Bangalore, 6 in Mysore, 5 in Belgaum, 3 in Davanagere, 4 in Mangalore and finally 2 centres in Shimoga. Starting from the 7th of April 2012, the process of valuation came to end on 5th of May.

 

Sources reveal that a total of 57.03% of students have passed in the examination. A total number of 5,98,415 students had registered, where only 5,95,197 attended the Board exams. The results are to be announced in their respective colleges on the 24th May 2012 (Thursday).

Regular students - 69.59% and 25.01% of external students also have passed the exam. As per the registration, 4,27,471 were regular students and the pass rate is said to be 2,97,467 whereas from 1,67,726 external candidates only 41,954 have cleared the examination.

Records say that Girl students have still kept up their head high in results this time with the percentage of boys passing the exam this year just 54.58 where as it is 74.30% of girls.

Mangalore District scored the first place with results of 85.70%, Second is Udupi with 58.32%, Kodagu in third place with 73.11%, Karwar at fourth place by 71.31% and Chickmagalur at the fifth place with the percentage of 70.36. Districts such as Koppal, Raichur, Bidar, Bijapur, Gulbarga and Yadgiri scored the last places with the percentage of 42.99, 41.23, 40.32, 38.73, 38.25 and 32.21 respectively.

Here are the marks scored by toppers of the Arts, Commerce and Science stream. A regular student of Arts scored the highest total of 569 with 94.83% while a Commerce student scored 591 out of 600 with 98.50% and a Science student scored 593 with percentage of 95.83.

Please Note :
Supplementary Exams are to be held for those students who have failed in this examination. II PU Supplementary Examinations will be held from 3rd July to 12th July, 2012.

The students appearing for II PU Supplementary examination of June/July 2012 should pay the fees in the concerned colleges on or before 2nd June, 2012. The examination fee for a subject is Rs 84 and Rs. 252 for three or more subjects.
