Sources from IIM-K announced that the education loan rates have increased by 2-4% per annum in the last 2 years which has put extra burden on students and their parents due to which the institute decided to roll back its fee.
Apart from slashing its tuition fee, IIM-Kozhikode is also adopting other initiatives such as launching scholarships to help high scorers. The institutes has also decided to waive of full fee from 1 % of its students with outstanding performance in academics, extracurricular activities, sports and social activities by awarding them and recognizing them at national and international levels.
Institute will also reserve full fee of the children of martyrs of military, police personnel or para military who died during their duties. Children of defense or allied services who were injured during performing their duties will receive waive half tuition fee that is reserved.
Moreover, institute will also grant reserved partial fee to all the students admitted under the category of persons with disability. However, other IIM's such as IIM Shillong, IIM Bangalore and IIM Ahmedabad have hiked their fee for the upcoming batch of 2012-14.
