IIT's Stand On To Play A Bigger Role In ISEET-2013

IIT's To Join ISEET 2013 Entrance Exam
The Indian Institute of Technology are presently claiming that they too want to take part in ISEET 2012, the new entrance examination proposed by the centre to replace IITJEE. While the members of IIT-Delhi and IIT-Kanpur board have appealed to the HRD ministry for considering their suggestions, IIT Madras Faculty Association has expressed solidarity on the same issue in front of the other IIT's.

The Sources from IIT Madras Faculty association have revealed that ministry did not even bother to consult them before proposing the changes. The association also revealed that although they too were in the favor of including class 12 marks in the admission process and felt that the formula derived by the Indian Statistical Institute for generalizing class 12 marks was quite fair.

However, the entire IIT community is still unable to understand why the HRD Ministry is introducing the new exam in 2013 in a hurry without considering the pros and cons of the change. IIT Kanpur academic also revealed that the entire proposal of ISEET is sketchy and no official documents have been sent to IIT's till now regarding ISEET.

Moreover, whatever the IIT's are currently inferring about ISEET is only from a presentation once made by HRD as well as media. The entire IIT community is unhappy with the whole issue and wants to atleast have a say in the entire change process.
