Jamia Millia Wins In AISSM Debate
The AMU Vice Chancellor, Prof Qazi Afzal Husain while addressing the prize distribution ceremony of All India Sir Syed Memorial Debate competition organized by the AMU Students Union On Wednesday said “The Aligarh Muslim University community must rise above to develop their institution up to the international standard of academics and research”.

Prof.Husain said that Aligarh Muslim University has a long and healthy tradition of debate competitions, which is also the part of its foundation attributes meaningfully contributing to its unique culture.

The Debate was organized in English, Hindi and Urdu languages on “The proposed Foreign University Bill will benefit the Indian Education System” and prizes were given away to the winners of debate in all the three languages separately. The prizes carried Rs.5000 for first, 3000 for second and 2000 for the third while best speaker prizes carried Rs.1000 and the Best Overall Team received Rs.25000.

On addressing the function, the Guest of Honour Mr.Shakeeluzzaman Ansari, a member of National Backward Class Commission, from the Ministry of Justice and Empowerment, Government of India and former Minister of Bihar said that AMU has greatly contributed to the formation of national morale and national character. He emphasized the need for promoting female education at all levels.
