Dr. Savita Mohan, Director Management School said, “Our aim of organizing the seminar was to fill the gap between the students and the industry. In India, despite all the facts, we still lack behind in practical approach, which in return effects our economy. We are trying to arrange regular interaction with Industry expert so our students become competitive for today’s market.”
Ms. Anuradha Khanna, Director Gold, Oriflame said “We have intered into a new decade and we have all seen the shift in how we market and reach consumers. In order to be efficient in marketing, it's important to realize what will work and what marketing methods are being left by the wayside.”
The seminar focused on the changing trends of marketing. It was noticed that now the market is adopting new trend which include Mobile Marketing, Social Marketing Integration. It has been seen that now consumer are determining the value of the product. Slowly the way of traditional marketing is diminishing.
Now a days Multi-level marketing (MLM) is the strategy, which the sales force is compensated not only for sales they personally generate, but also for the sales of others they recruit, creating a downline of distributors and a hierarchy of multiple levels of compensation. Other terms used for MLM include pyramid selling, network marketing, and referral marketing. Elaborating more on the subject Ms. Khanna said that most commonly, the salespeople are expected to sell products directly to consumers by means of relationship referrals and word of mouth marketing. Some people use "direct selling" as a name for MLM, although MLM is only one type of direct marketing, which started centuries ago with pedding.
During this seminar students showed a lot interest. Many students asked questions. Few of them were even given prize for their good question. Faculty members, Mr. Satish, Dr. Avijit, Mrs. Snehlata, Mr. Pankaj, Mrs. Pratima and others were also present at this occasion.
