All IIT Aspirants Gets 4 Attempts To Crack IIT JEE

Aspirants Get 4 Attempts To Crack IITJEE
The MHRD has now decided to conduct the IIT JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) 3-4 times in a year and make the scores valid for at least 2 years. As a result, the IIT aspirants will now be able to make 4 attempts for the IITJEE Entrance Exam in a year to obtain a seat in one of the IIT's.

Presently, the candidates can take the JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) only twice and have to wait for 1 complete year before taking the test second time. The entrance exam score is valid for just 1 year. The initiative has been taken by the centre to reduce mental pressure of engineering aspirants from taking multiple entrance exams by introducing a single national level entrance test.

This common national level entrance test will initially be valid for all engineering institutes funded by the central government such as 30 NIT's, 15 IIT's few deemed universities, IISER's and 4 IIIT's. The AIEEE and IITJEE will merge to form new common test JEE, which will be introduced in 2013.

The test is proposed to be conducted biannually in 2013, that is in April/ May and November/ December in 2013; it will be conducted 3 to 4 times in one year in the subsequent years. The students can apply for admission to any of the centrally funded colleges with the highest score out of all.
