PU Admissions In Karnataka To Go Online From 2012

The Education Department of Karnataka has decided to make the pre-university admission process online for colleges in 9 districts this year. The cities include Bangalore, Belgaum, Mysore, Hubli-Dharwad, Gulbarga, Davangere, Shimoga, Mangalore and Tumkur.

The norms of online admission process has been issued by the education department which will be launched this summer. The proposal of online admission system has been uploaded on the public forum for public opinion. The department will release a prospectus briefing details of the process and colleges after SSLC examination. It will include the college fee, seat matrix, subjects, infrastructure and languages.

Students will be required to fill very few details in the application form as the remaining details will be taken from the SSLC database. The students will only have to mention their college preference. They can give a maximum of 40 choices and a minimum of three.

The department is yet to decide the mode of submission of application form. One of the options is students can submit the form by giving their SSLC registration number and preference of colleges. The students belonging to reservation quota will have to mention their category. The application forms are made available in the form of PDF format.
