Maharashtra To Have Only CMAT From 2013
AICTE has already been adopted CMAT from this academic year, but the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra has come across a decision to go away from Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to the two-year MBA or MMS Programmes in the State with effect from next year, 2013.

Colleges such as Sydenham Institute of Management Studies and Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) will consider the scores of centrally conducted the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) as admission criteria.

A notification is this regard has been issued by the DTE in Maharashtra on December 28, 2011. The notification depicts that the admission to first year of two-year full time AICTE - approved MBA, MMS and PGDM courses from the academic year 2013-14 will be done through CMAT merit list only conducted by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).

It is assumed that many other states will be adapting to the new testing pattern gradually stimulating from Maharashtra.
