Delhi University Plans To Limit Applications-2012

DU Applications For Year 2012 Is Limited
Delhi University might change its admission process again, based on the suggestion of the high powered committee of the University, it is to put restrictions on the number of colleges each student can apply for admission in the year 2012. It is felt that this act would lead to more realistic cutoffs with less number of lists.

This is just a proposal, put forward by few members of the committee. The idea is yet to be finalized in another two to three settings. The committee which compromises principals of 16 Delhi University colleges, might be able to submit its recommendations by the middle week of January, 2012.

Those general category candidates, who have marks ranging between 75%-90% and applying to SRCC, are merely increasing the number of applications. Similarly, there is no point for strudents with marks above 96%-97% applying for nother colleges when they can get seat in most of the colleges.

A student would be allowed to apply in a maximum of 15-20 colleges. This will help in preparing a more realistic cutoff. However, some institutes like Gargi college feel that it will have no effect over cutoffs. They don't go by how many colleges a student has applied for. An analysis of board results combining with past experience can guide better for preparing cutoffs.
