On Monday, two officials belonging to Cayuga Community College of New York had visited the Nagpur University, with a view to forge alliance between two institutions. The dean of enrollment and chief international officer, Cherryl Anderson and Professor Emeritus of Philosophy, Jeffry Delbel met the chancellor, Vilas Sapkal and Registrar, Mahesh Yenkie for informal discussions.
The discussions included exchange programmesof students and faculties, various courses and starting of US-based countries in NU or vice-versa. The officials later met the newly-elected Management Council members and discussed on the same issue.
Registrar Mahesh Yenkie spoke on the discussions to the TOI, “There are some problems in exchange of courses or students that need to be sorted out. The general courses in India like BA, BCom or BSc are of three years' duration while those in the US are four year programmes. First, we have to bring equivalence between these courses."
However, he clarified that it was just a preliminary discussion.
