2.5 Lakh Candidates Appear For CAT 2011
After the time of announcements for CAT 2011 Applications, registrations have come to an end at the midnight of October 4th with a count of almost 2.05 Lakh CAT competitors. The reports says that, when compared to last year's count of 2.04 lakh students, its a insignificant hike in the total number of candidates to attend CAT exam this year . The Indian Institute of Management has announced that sales of CAT 2011 Vouchers came to an end on October 1st, and about 2.06 lakh vouchers were sold all over India. And based on the information from the Prometric, number of candidates are high from cities like New Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Pune .

Among the 2.05 Lakh students, it is found to be 73% of male and 27% of female candidates . In a fewer upcoming weeks, the Prometric will harmonize the date to produce the Final report of CAT 2011 which will further include the actual numbers and analytical breakdown of candidates. Professor Janakiraman Moorthy, the Convenor of CAT 2011, said “The registrations have somehow ended evenly. The increase in candidates this year is a sign for that Management is still a quest for career choice by Young Indians .The Prometric ensures candidates to manage the capacity to get their preferred locations where possible” .

Note : There is a quite change in CAT test pattern, as previous pattern had three sections it is changed for two this time where candidates have 70 minutes to answer each of them .
