Kerala proposes new adm'n rules
There will be new rules for taking admissions to medical and engineering courses in Kerala. The rules will be implemented soon.

Earlier it was decided that 50 percent of the seats of these colleges will be for the management quota and the other 50 percent will be filled under merit quota of the examinations conducted by Kerala. But, when it came to stabilise the fees structure, it was directed by the court that no cross-subsidy should take place.

Thereafter, the admissions to professional colleges in Kerala has always been a controversial issue. Now, the Kerala government is trying to address this long term issue by objecting the private managements who run the institutions and admit students according to their own norms.
