Engg Counselling in Karnataka may get d
Although the medical counselling has began today, the counselling for admission to engineering courses may get delayed by at least 10 days. However, the Karnataka higher education minister VS Acharya has mentioned that the general counselling for admissions to Engineering BE would begin on 27 June 2011.

He also claimed that the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) had granted final approval for admissions to undergraduate engineering courses for 2011-12. But, management of various Colleges believes that Acharya had misunderstood.Acharya had thought the recommendation by AICTE was its approval. He claimed that the AICTE had given approval to about 145 engineering colleges and 30 more colleges are yet to get it.

As per reports, AICTE on its website had recently announced a list of colleges recommended for approval, but that is not a formal approval. It is believed that the approval will come after 22 June 2011, but it would be based on the scrutiny committee meeting, scheduled to be held on 30 June 2011.

The engineering Colleges in Karnatka have to submit the deficiency report following the requirements sought by the AICTE. The heads of engineering colleges in Karnatka are getting pissed off with the way AICTE have been handling this issue. None of the popular colleges in Karnataka have got approval so far from AICTE.
