The counselling session for Karnataka CET 2011 entrance crackers (engineering) will begin on 9 June 2011, while the counselling for physically-challenged candidates and medical candidates will begin from 20 June, 2011.
Post results also, the issue of seat matrix and fixing the fee structure has not yet been solved. It has been reported that many private colleges are not ready to accept the proposal by the Karnataka state government.
Interestingly, the higher education minister VS Acharya has quipped that "the fee and seat sharing have already been fixed. The signing of a consensual agreement with the colleges who are ready to accept them is yet to happen. As of now, two categories of fees-Rs30,000 and Rs35,000 have been finalised. The seat sharing ration is 45:55, with 45 being for government quota."
According to reports, the minister claims that those Colleges who do not want to follow the fee slab prescribed by the government would have to go by the Padmaraj Committee report.
A meeting with the management representatives of many Engineering Colleges is scheduled today (31 May 2011). Also, a meeting is due with the Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association (KUPECA) today. However,there have been reports that complete seat matrix for the state will be alloted to all medical colleges by 9 June 2011.
