Presidency University WB to see lot of changes

The city of joy Kolkata is witnessing rapid changes (development) after Mamata Banerjee has come to power as Chief Minister of the state. The popular Presidency College which was upgraded into a University last year will see extensive relief and changes.

The West Bengal's new Higher Education Minister Bratya Basu have declared that a mentor group will be formed to look after the prestigious institute and the process of filling all the vacancies will speed up. Infact, the process may begin next week itself.

The institution admits 2,500 students and produces lot of talent every year. But,in the past few years it has been facing criticism about its falling standards and also faces frequent student unrest.

The history of the college is such that it deserves attention to recover all the criticism and crisis. The college's alumni include Nobel laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore, Swami Vivekananda, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose,Satyajit Ray, Jyoti Basu, Amartya Sen and Satyendranath Bose and Rajendra Prasad.
