The year 2008, 2009 and 2010 had brought 100 percent success in the camp of Bihar's Super 30 -the free coaching centre. All 30 students cracked the Indian Institute of Technology-Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE) for three consecutive year. But, this time only 24 could crack the much hyped IIT-JEE 2011.
So, far 236 students from Super 30 have cleared the coveted exam of IIT-JEE. According to Anand Kumar of Bihar's Super 30 coaching, "This year the entire batch could not clear the test may be because there was a change in the pattern of the exam."
Meanwhile, the number of successful candidates who have cleared the IIT -JEE from Super 30 batch include the children of roadside vendor, mobile mechanic,farmer,truck driver and class four government employee. With their commitment and hard work these 24 brilliant candidates have cracked the IIT-JEE to make their parents proud.
The students from poor families in Bihar sit for a competitive test to get into Super 30 batch. Here, they commit themselves to a year of 16 hours study. Super 30 provides coaching, food and accommodation free for the students.
According to Anand,"Super 30 is supported by the income generated from his Ramanujam School of Mathematics, which has students who can afford to pay fees." The mentor also reveals that we teach our students to eat, sleep, walk and talk only IIT.
