The Haryana government has declared to establish 51 new ITIs in the state.As per the plan, 85 skill development centres in the public-private partnership mode would be established to train the school dropouts and the labour force working in the unorganised sector. These centres would be set up under the Central Skill Development Mission.
The 9 of the ITIs had already started functioning. 19 ITIs have began partial operations. The nine new ITIs have increased the overall intake capacity to about 31,416 students. About 119 ITIs were currently functional in the state.
