High Court refuses to stay AIEEE results

The Delhi High Court have allowed the CBSE to declare the All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) results by ignoring a plea for stay on it. The AIEEE was held on two dates 1 May and 11 May 2011. Due to paper leakage the exam had to be delayed and again rescheduled for those candidates who missed it due Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) entrance test.

“Nearly 10 lakh students have appeared for the exam. We are not going to stay the publication of the result. We are more concerned about why the leakage of question paper happen? ,” the Court asked.

The Court, meanwhile, issued notice to National Law University on a petition alleging that rescheduling of the AIEEE had led to a number of candidates missing the law entrance examination. In its reply, the Central Board of Secondary Examinations (CBSE) sought dismissal of the bunch of petitions including two PILs saying that it was the best judge to take care of the interest of the candidates.

The Bench, which was hearing a bunch of petitions including the PILs seeking cancellation of the examinations, posted the matter for further hearing on 30 May 2011.
