Chennai-based Great Lakes Institute of Management, which offers a one-year PGPM for experienced candidates completed its placements for the batch of 2010-11. The PGPM Class of 2011 comprised 296 students with work experience ranging from 20 months to 81 months. A total of 121 companies participated in the placements and offered a variety of roles.
Having a batch size of 296, the number of Students Placed-In Campus (interviews conducted on campus) is 285 (97.27%). The number of Students Placed-Off Campus (interviews conducted outside the campus, such as in the company's offices) is 8 (2.81%) and the number of opt-outs is 3.
The average salary of the PGPM class was Rs 9.45 lakhs per annum while the median salary was Rs 9.2 lakhs per annum. The highest salary was Rs 24 lakhs offered by an USA-based management consulting firm. According to the institute, the post-MBA average salary was 133% of the average pre-MBA salary of the batch.
Three students opted out of the placements. According to Great Lakes, the reasons were either joining their family businesses or taking a break before embarking into corporate life.
