Private Engineering Colleges demands fixed fee

By Kamalika Bhattacharya

The Common Entrance Test (CET) 2011 is getting into more difficult situations. The Karnataka State Unaided Private Engineering Colleges Association held a meeting with member colleges and faced strong opposition on signing the consensual agreement this year too.

As per the reports,“Member colleges are not ready to accept the consensual agreement this year. Instead, they are demanding the implementation of the justice Padmaraj committee report, which had mentioned a fixed fee structure for each college. The report was recently submitted to the state government."

If at all the government wants to sign the consensual agreement, the fee for engineering courses should be fixed at Rs.60,000. Otherwise, no agreement will be signed.A meeting with private medical colleges is also scheduled to discuss the issue.
