Eligibility:
The electrical engineers should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering in areas that include electronics or electrical engineering.The candidate needs to be analytical, logical and focused. The aspirant should possess comprehensive knowledge of electrical energy equipment and electrical networks. The problem-solving skills acquired in an electrical engineering program act as an extraordinary asset. Similar skills are required to assume leadership roles in professional circles outside the workplace.

 

Courses:

Electrical Engineering courses are offered at both graduation and post graduation levels across various Institutes of Technology. For diploma programs, one can seek admission to polytechnics. For Bachelor courses, one needs to complete 10+2 with high scores in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. While Post graduation can be done after completing a Bachelor's Degree. For higher studies, one can go for M.E and Ph. D program.

Career Scope in Electrical Engineering:

With evolving industrial requirements the demand of electrical engineers is rising. The candidates can find openings with chemical companies, power sector firms, telecommunication organizations and computer technology corporations. Nevertheless, opportunities gallore in fields like Railways, Information Technology Sector, Electrical Device and Systems Manufacturing Units, Healthcare Device Equipment Manufacturing Sector. Electrical engineers can also find employment in research organizations, design industry, chemical and steel sector and petroleum organizations. The Electricity Boards and various multinational companies always tend to absorb electrical graduates as managers or engineers in their payrolls.

Remuneration:

The salary for electrical engineers is satisfactory at fresher level which may range from Rs 15,000 to Rs 25, 000. With higher degrees and experience, a candidate can expect exponential pay packages.
