Overview of Engineering Entrance exams

While talking about competitive exams we are often reminded of popular engineering entrance examinations.To get an admission ticket to one of the renowned Engineering college, you have to do well in the Engineering Entrance Exams conducted all over India by different Engineering Institutes.

Lets take a look at some of the engineering entrance exams that will come your way in 2011:

IIT JEE 2011
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) conducts Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) every year for the admission to its B-Tech and other courses offered at the IIT Mumbai, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Chennai, IIT Kharakpur, IIT Guwahati, IIT Roorkee, IT Varanasi and ISM Dhanbad. IIT JEE 2011 is scheduled for Sunday 10 April, 2011.

AIEEE-2011
All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) for admission to various NITs, IIITs, Deemed Universities and for few more State Institutions will be conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on 1st May, 2011 for admission to B.E./B.Tech. and B.Arch./B. Planning courses. AIEEE exam will be online this year. The online exams will be held between May 1st-15th, 2011.

BITSAT-2011
BITSAT 2011, a Computer based online test, for admissions to integrated first degree programmes of BITS Pilani Campuses will be conducted between 11th May - 10th June 2011.

MHTCET-2011
Government of Maharashtra conducts single combined “Common Entrance Test" MHT-CET-2011 for all Health Sciences, Engineering and Pharmacy degree courses for the academic year 2011-2012. The Test will be held on Thursday, 12th May 2011.

Comedk-2011
Comedk UGET - 2011 Entrance Examination will be conducted on Sunday 08th May, 2011 for the admission to Undergraduate Medical, Dental and Engineering courses in Comedk Member Institutions.

CETK-2011
Common Entrance Test 2011 (CETK 2011), conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority for admission to professional courses will be held on 27th and 28th April, 2011.The Eligibility criteria for admission to engineering courses has been announced.

AEE-2011
Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham University conducts AEE.Amrita University conducts this exam every year in various cities across the country for admission to the B.Tech. courses at its campuses located at Amritapuri, Bengaluru and Coimbatore.The entrance examination is scheduled on Sunday 17, April, 2011.

GUJCET-2011
Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Gandhinagar conducts Gujarat Common Entrance Test 2011 (GUJCET-2011) which will be held on 7th April 2011 for admissions to degree engineering, diploma/degree pharmacy as well as medical courses.

VITEEE-2011
VIT Engineering Entrance Examination is conducted for Admission to Undergraduate Engineering programmes in Vellore University. VIT Engineering Entrance Exam(VITEEE) 2011 will be held on 16th April 2011 (Saturday).

EAMCET-2011
EAMCET is the common entrance test for securing seats in Engineering in Andhra Pradesh. It is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad every year on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education. EAMCET is scheduled on 08th May, 2011.

OJEE-2011
The Orissa Joint Entrance Examination (Orissa JEE 2011), is scheduled on Sunday,8 May, 2011 at selected centers for admission to the first year Degree courses in Engineering/Technology, MBBS/BDS, Pharmacy.

WBJEE-2011
West Bengal JEE- 2011 is for taking admission to undergraduate courses in Engineering / Technology / Medical /Dental / Veterinary and Pharmacy in Universities / Colleges in West Bengal for the academic session 2011-2012.WBJEE 2011 is scheduled on Sunday, 17 April 2011.

KEAM-2011
The Controller of Entrance Examination of Kerala state conducts Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) 2011 admission to Professional degree courses at colleges in Kerala. The exam is scheduled on 18 and 19 April, 2011.
