| Job Profile : |
Lead engineer will be responsible for mechanical design, application, and product support for diesel engine components. Requires involvement in Proposal, Requisition, Reliability, NPI and productivity projects. Engineer is required to interface with internal engineering team, various system-level engineering teams, manufacturing teams, sourcing teams, and field service teams for successful implementation of design solutions.
- Lead Component Engineering of various engine components as part of productivity, requisition, reliability or NPI projects
- Carrying out requirement analysis, concept trade off, DFMEA, detailed engineering calculations, writing robust validation plans, working with various test facilities, data reduction, and data analysis.
- Manufacturing & field Data analysis, root cause analysis & reliability improvement to support shop/field/reliability issues
- Responsible for writing drawing change orders and working with drafting team for layouts, changes, and implementation
- Working with sourcing teams and suppliers for supporting and complete New Component Introductions (NCIs)
- Ownership of assigned project, driving closure with technical solution that meets all performance, reliability, quality, and cost targets.
- Communicate project status, schedules, upcoming deliverables, and technical solutions between various teams. Method of communications to include, but not limiting to, Tollgate process, FRACAS, and team meetings.

| Desired Characteristics: |
- Experience with large diesel engine component design is a plus
- Working level knowledge of design tool such as ADAMS, EXCITE, GLIDE, Simulation tools such as MATLAB, GT-Suite, CFD tools such as KIVA, CFX and Analysis tools such as ANSYS, ABACUS is a plus
- Six sigma GB/BB certification.
