IBPS Clerk Exam occurs in two stages : Preliminary and Main Exams. Both these papers follow the online method of conducting the written examination.
Prelims and Mains exams are two stages of the IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern. Both tests will be administered online. There will be three sections in the IBPS Prelims: Reasoning Ability, English Language, & Numerical Ability. Four categories will comprise the Mains exam: Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude, General English and General / Financial Awareness. The Prelims and Mains exams will contain a total of 100 & 190 Questions, respectively. There will be five possible responses for each question; candidates must select the most appropriate one. Every section will have a time limit, and applicants must only attempt each section within that time limit.

The subjects that are covered under this examination are Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning and English Language. The syllabus for both Preliminary Exam and the Mains Exam are unique.
Both Preliminary Exam and Mains Exam will be conducted bilingually, i.e. both in English and in Hindi. The below-mentioned table is the detailed structure for both exams:

IBPS, Mains Exam will have 190 questions that need to be completed in a time frame of 160 minutes.
Earlier, Computer Aptitude and Reasoning Ability Section used to be conducted separately. But, in the recent update by IBPS, both these sections are combined together and will constitute 50 questions that need to be solved in a time duration of 45 minutes.

Negative Marking:
Negative marking for both exams will be applicable for each wrong answer
For every wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted from all score
For the unmarked question, there will be no penalty
A score will be normalized using the equipercentile method
Cut Off Score:
Cut off will be decided according to available vacancies in that particular state.
