Projects Handled:
RADIUSNIG (Remote Access for Dial-In User Service Network Interface)
Client: XERO Mobile (US), Manipal University, Aspider
Duration: 6 months
Team Size: 3
Role: Test Engineer
Platform: HP - UNIX
Languages / Tools: MGTS (Message Generator and Traffic Simulator), C ++
Description: A part of VoIP Server or AAA server has signaling portion which is RADIUSNIG.It is tightly coupled with Radius Stack and interacts with AAA Server. Radius NIG gets Authentication Request Packet (Access Request),Authorization Request Packet (Authorize_Only_Access_Request) and Accounting Request Packet from NAS(Network Access Server) which is client for Radius NIG through ACE Socket (Adaptive Communication Environment). RADIUSNIG converts the packets so got from Radius Stack into PIPC (Propitiatory Inter Process Communication) Objects. Radius Stack decodes the packet into value-pair list and NIG converts it into PIPC objects. It then sends Radius-PIPC message object to AAA for further processing. AAA receives the Radius-PIPC packet through UDP Sockets. It applies Business Logic on the attributes of the received packet and fill the object with the modified values in the response packet. RADIUSNIG receives the PIPC message object from AAA through ACE Socket and Encodes it to the Radius Packet. It then sends the Response Packet to the Client (NAS).
Responsibilities:
 Entrusted with the key responsibility of gathering the requirements for the RADIUS server
 Creation of Component Test plans and building call scenarios on MGTS
 Coding of test cases for both positive functionality and negative functionality
 Execution of test cases for both functional and load testing
 Performing Bug Tracking and Troubleshooting

AAA (Authentication, Authorization and Accounting)
Client: XERO Mobile (US), Manipal University, Aspider
Duration: 10 months
Team Size: 3
Role: Test Engineer
Platform: HP - UNIX
Languages / Tools: MGTS (Message Generator and Traffic Simulator), C ++
Description: This package contains the Authentication, Authorisation and Accounting functionalities. The attributes of this package are subscriber profile details (user name, user password, services, accounting information. Authentication module includes verification of the user’s password for the services requested along with the other credentials like client’s IP address that has been requested for. Authorization module controls the access to the specific services on the network through the user’s profile in the Billing Server. Based on the authentication of the services requested, user’s authorized for the same. Accounting module records the network resources usage by the user through the Billing Server. It keeps track of a user’s activity while accessing the network resources, including the amount of time spent in the network (Session time), the services accessed and the amount of data transferred during the session. When the user is authenticated and the authorized, client (SIP Application Server/NAS) sends an Accounting-request an accounting record is created in the AAA server. User’s session is terminated when the client generates an accounting request to stop the session triggered by either user or client, an accounting stop record’s created. The Billing server updated with the session Id, session timeout value, user info, used time and unused time etc.
Responsibilities:
 Entrusted with the key responsibility of gathering the requirements for the RADIUS server

Platform: HP - UNIX
Languages / Tools: MGTS (Message Generator and Traffic Simulator), C ++
Description: Location, Registration and Redirection server in a VoIP Network actually helps in subscriber mobility. The subscriber needs to be authenticated, authorized and accounted for the Voice/Data services he/she is subscriber for. VoIP server does this AAA functionality for the VoIP service provider. Subscriber of a VoIP service provider would be registering with the VoIP network to commence his/her services. VoIP server provides the Registration service acting as a Registrar Server in the SIP network. Calls terminating to a subscriber would be routed to his/her home network. In the home network, VoIP server will provide the current location information of the subscriber to the SIP server which can then further route the call. This facilitates mobility in SIP Product Overall Description VoIP Server will be deployed in a VoIP network being provided.
Responsibilities:

XIUS SIPAS (Xius Session Initiation Protocol Application Server)
Duration: 10 months
Team Size: 3
Role: Test Engineer
Platform: HP - UNIX
Languages / Tools: MGTS (Message Generator and Traffic Simulator), C ++
Description: The Xius SIP Application Server (XSAS) provides value added services to end-user. When the user is interested in any service to be invoked then the SoftSwitch in the home domain forwards message to XSAS deployed in home domain of subscriber. XSAS provides supplementary services of SIP phones like Call Barring, Call Forwarding, Call Waiting, Call Conference, Instant Messaging, Push-to-talk over cellular and other multimedia services. Call Barring (or Call Blocking) : Because of the cost of incoming calls, we may find it useful to set call barring when roaming. A call bar restricts what calls can be made or received. This setting is in the network, not in the handset or SIM.Call Forwarding (or call diverting):It is a feature that allows an incoming call to a called party which would be otherwise unavailable to be redirected to a mobile telephone or other telephone number where the desired called party is situated. Call Hold (or Call Waiting) : If a calling party places a call to a called party which is otherwise engaged, and the called party has the call waiting feature enabled, the called party is able to suspend the current telephone call and switch to the new incoming call, and can then negotiate with the new or the current caller an appropriate time to ring back if the message is important, or to quickly handle a separate incoming call.
Responsibilities:
 Entrusted with the key responsibility of gathering the requirements for the RADIUS server
 Creation of Component Test plans and building call scenarios on MGTS
 Coding of test cases for both positive functionality and negative functionality

DCCS (DIAMETER Credit Control Server)
Duration: 6 months
Team Size: 3
Role: Test Engineer
Platform: HP - UNIX
Languages / Tools: MGTS (Message Generator and Traffic Simulator), C ++

Diameter credit control server acts as a prepaid server, performing real-time rating and credit-control. The application specifies methods for Quota management (reserve, reauthorize, abandon,), Simple debit/credit, Balance checks, and Price inquiries. Diameter application that can be used to implement real-time credit-control for a variety of end user services such as network access, Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) services, messaging services, and download services. DCCS able to rate service information in real-time. When an account is exhausted or expired, the user must be denied the ability to compile additional chargeable events. After initial request for authentication and authorization the GGSN router sends the first interrogation (INITIAL) request to reserve money from the user's account and to
initiate the process. The subsequent intermediate (UPDATE) request(s) may be needed to request new quota while the service is being rendered. The final (FINAL) request is used to exit the process. The credit-control server is required to maintain session state for session-based credit-control.
Responsibilities:
 Entrusted with the key responsibility of gathering the requirements for the RADIUS server
 Creation of Component Test plans and building call scenarios on MGTS
 Coding of test cases for both positive functionality and negative functionality
