What is MAT Exam?

Management Aptitude Test (MAT)  is a National Entrance Test, conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA), and a standardised test being administered since 1988 to faciliate Business School (B-School) to screen candidates for admission to MBA and Allied Programmes. The Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) approved MAT as a national level test in 2003.

Any B-School - National or International - can consider MAT Score as an admission input based on the Score Cards issued to the candidates. The largest test of its kind in the nation, MAT Will continue to be your passport over 600 B-Schools across India.

MAT is an objective test, designed to measure the candidate's general aptitudes in language comprehension, mathematical skills, data analysis and sufficiency, intelligence and critical reasoning, Indian and global environment.

B-School, national and international management colleges can consider MAT Score as an admission input based on the scorecards issued to the candidates. MAT will continue to be your passport to over 600+ B-Schools across India.

Center for Management Services (CMS) is the specialised division of AIMA undertaking testing and other management services. Since 1988, these testing services have been in operation under the trademark All India Management Aptitude Testing Services (AIMATS).

AIMATS has the unique distinction of being the first to be awarded ISO/IEC 27001:2013 Certification for the range of services under its scope.

AICTE in its mission to reduce the burden of students in attending to multiple examinations has launched the national level entrance exams for facilitating institutions to select suitable students for admission in all management programs approved by AICTE.

MAT is usually conducted four times in a year. The exams will be generally scheduled in the month of February, May, September, and December. MAT is conducted in all major cities across the country and sometimes also in leading cities abroad. 

MAT May 2024 Schedule released

The All India Management Association has released the schedule for AIMA MAT May 2024 from 02 April, 2024.

Management Aptitude Test (MAT) - May Schedule 2024 Registation Started:

Management Aptitude Test, Popularly abbreviated as MAT has opened its portal for registration. The All India Managament Association has started its registration process for AIMA MAT May 2024 on 02 April, 2024. Candidates who are interested and eligible; can register themselves for the upcoming examinations for the stream of Management.

MAT May 2024 Schedule - The Internet-Based Test (IBT - 1) scheduled for 02 April, 2024 to 16 May, 2024. Tne IBT Registrations will end on 16 May, 2024. IBT - 1 Admit Cards will be available on 18 May, 2024.

MAT May 2024 Schedule - The Internet-Based Test (IBT - 2) scheduled for 02 April, 2024 to 24 May, 2024. Tne IBT Registrations will end on 24 May, 2024. IBT - 2 Admit Cards will be available on 23 May, 2024.

MAT May 2024 Schedule - The Internet-Based Test (IBT - 3) scheduled for 02 April, 2024 to 28 May, 2024. Tne IBT Registrations will end on 28 May, 2024. IBT - 3 Admit Cards will be available on 30 May, 2024.

MAT May 2024 Schedule - The Computer-Based Test (CBT) will be held on 26 May, 2024 and the registration by 19 May, 2024 and the admit card will be available on 23 May, 2024.

MAT May 2024 Schedule - The Paper-Based Test (PBT) will be conducted on 2 June, 2024 with the registration dealine on 28 May 2024, and the admit cards will be available from 30 May, 2024.

MAT Application Process 2024:

MAT Application Forms are available on the official website of AIMA-MAT exam website. Candidates can fill up the forms to appear in the exam by registering on the official website. Check the MAT application process below:

Step 1: Log on to AIMA MAT website: https://mat.aima.in/

Step 2: Enter name, date of birth, email, mobile number and password

Step 3: Select state/UT, city, test option and a password

Step 4: Click on 'register'

Step 5: An OTP will be sent on the registered mobile number

Step 6: Verify phone number using the OTP and login to complete the MAT registration

Step 7: Make payment of MAT application fee

Step 8: Select exam mode and two test cities

Step 9: Enter academic and personal details

Step 10: Upload photo and signature in prescribed format

Step 11: Select five institutes you wish AIMA to send your MAT score to for admission

Step 12: Download the copy of duly filled application form after submission

Mode of Test (How to take the test)

Candidates can take MAT as

(i) Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (IBT) or

(ii) Paper Based Test (PBT) or

(iii) Computer Based Test (CBT) or

(iv) Paper Based Test and Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (PBT+IBT) or

(v) Double Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (IBT + IBT) or

(vi) Computer Based Test and Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (CBT+IBT) or

(vii) Paper Based Test and Computer Based Test (PBT+CBT)

MODE OF TEST (How to Take the test)

NOTE :

Candidate can opt for an additional mode of test (e.g., IBT + IBT, PBT+CBT,  IBT+PBT, IBT+CBT) tests by paying an extra fees of Rs. 1200/- in addition to Rs. 2100/-.

Candidates opting for additional test will have the benefit of selecting additional 2 Management Institutes for sending their scores in addition to existing option of selecting 5 Management Institutes i.e. they can select 7 Management Institutes in total.

MAT MAY 2024 Exam Pattern

The test is a 2 hours 30 minutes Computer-Based and Paper-Based Test which is conducted in a single session to evaluate the candidate's ability across various segments like Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension and General Awareness.

A candidate has to follow certain rules and regulations before applying for this entrance exam.

MAT Exam Preparation 2024

Candidates must first pick when they wish to take the MAT exam in order to prepare for it. The February exam has the most applications because MBA admissions at major business schools take place from March to May. MAT September & December Scores will be accepted for admission in 2024.
