JIPMER is a national level under graduate medical entrance exam, conducted by Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) for the admission to MBBS programmes.
The exams usually will be held between April and June and the exam pattern comprises of five sections Chemistry, Physics, Biology, English, Logic & Quantitative Reasoning, English and Comprehension.
The JIPMER exam pattern is as follows:
- The examination will be a computer based test (CBT) online
- The examination will be conducted in English medium
- The questions for JIPMER entrance examination will be based on the syllabus for XI and XII standard as prescribed by the state board higher secondary and CBSE
- Online based distributed object system of examination
- The entrance examination is common to all and consists of 200 single MCQs and will cover all the subjects
- The entrance examination will be of multiple choice type questions. The number of questions will be 200 in total from the subjects of physics (60 marks), chemistry (60 marks), Biology (60 marks), and logical and quantiative reasoning( 10 marks) and english and comprehension (10 marks)
- Each answer with correct response shall be awarded one mark
- Zero mark shall be given for the questions that are not answered
- There is no negative marking
- All the questions will be of one best /correct response type having four alternatives
- The response of the candidate for a question on the click of submit button before closing of examination shall be considered as the response chose by the candidate
