JEE Advanced is an entrance exam conducted by IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee for the admission into engineering courses. Only 1,50,000 of the top rankers in JEE (Main), which includes students from all categories (GE, OBC (NCL), SC and ST) will be eligible to appear in JEE Advanced (hitherto known as IIT-JEE).

The pattern for JEE Advanced paper is as follows: The JEE advanced will have two objective type papers: Paper I and Paper II Each paper will be divided into three sections: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics The question paper will be either in Hindi or English depending upon the choice of language as opted for by the candidate while registering for the exam.

JEE Advanced Exam Pattern 2024

According to the JEE Advanced 2024 examination pattern, the exam will be held online and will consist of two papers: Test 1 and Paper 2. Paper I

The question paper consists of 3 parts (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics). Each part had 2 sections.

Section I: Consists of ten multiple choice questions. Each question has 4 options A B C D out of which one answer is correct.

Section II: Consisted of 6 comprehension type questions. In total there were 6 questions related to three paragraphs with 2 questions on each paragraph. Each question has only one correct answer among the given four (A B C and D) options.

Section III:

Consisted of 4 matching list type (MRMT) questions. Each question contains statements given in 2 columns. Statements given in the first columns have to be matched with statements in the second column.

There were 19 questions from each subject ( (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) totalling to 80 marks. The total questions from all the subjects were 57 totalling to 240 marks
