Eligibility Criteria for JIPMER

JIPMER is a national level under graduate medical entrance exam, conducted by Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) for the admission to MBBS programmes.

 
Eligibility Criteria for JIPMER

Candidates who are aspiring to appear for JIPMER exam have to fulfill criteria listed below:

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The applicant should be an Indian National

Age limit:

  • Candidates should have completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December, the year of his/her admission to the 1st year M.B.B.S

Performance in (10+2)

  • The candidate should have passed Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination, which is equivalent to (10+2) after a period of 12 years of studies
  • The last two years of such study comprising of Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Bio-technology and Mathematics
  • The applicant must have passed in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Biotechnology and English individually obtaining a minimum of 50% mark

Qulaifying marks

  • For OPH candidates in general category, the minimum marks taken together in the qualifying examination and competitive entrance examination will be 45%. For SC/ ST/ OBC/ OPH candidates, the minimum marks in the qualifying examination will be 40%
  • Applicants who have appeared or will be appearing for the exams in the month of March/April are also eligible to apply
