Akshaya Institute of Technology is one of the popular Engineering Colleges in Karnataka offering Technical Education in various branches of Engineering. The institute offers under graduate (UG) and post graduate (PG) courses in four thrust areas of engineering; Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Electronics and Communication Engineering. Placement and training department of the institute organizes various training programmes right from the first semester to final semester on spoken and written English in addition to various skills development programmes required to make the students employable and acceptable by the corporate world. Excellence in teaching-learning activity of the institute has resulted in high pass percentage with excellent scoring by the students in the university examinations. Consistent and quality placement training has resulted in good number of campus placements of the students in reputed companies. Some of the students aspire for higher studies and obtain seats in western universities with scholarships. The alumni of the institute have spread across the globe and some of them have occupied top positions in multinational companies. Annual alumni meet is organized on May 1st of every year.

The Pre-Incubation centre of the institute is working very effectively and transforming many young graduates into entrepreneurs. Good numbers of start-up companies are being initiated in the pre-incubation centre. The institute provides free space, building, electric power, water and other basic facilities for the start-ups. The institute is associated with many industries and universities for collaborative technical programmes and research activities.

Many students participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities and competitions organized by other institutes and win prizes. The institute organizes technical and cultural fests every year in which the students from other institutes will also participate.

All the students of the institute participate in NSS and Swach Bharath activity on all Saturdays. For all-round development of the students, the institute has the facilities like, digital library, music club, dance club, sports club, well equipped jim, reading room, yoga centre, etc. Bus facility is available for the students and faculty members to commute to various parts of the city. High-tech canteen meets the needs of the students and employees of the institute. The campus is wifi enabled and the students can access internet anywhere in the campus round the clock, including in the hostel. Separate hostel facility is available for boys and girls in the campus at nominal charges. The institute helps students in obtaining various scholarships. The short-term goal of the institute is to get NBA and NAAC accreditation. The long term goal is to become autonomous institute and ultimately a world class deemed university.
