A. G. Teachers College, Ahmedabad was established in June 1952 by the Ahmedabad Education Society. It is one of the premier institutions to impart & provide a platform in the field of higher education (B.Ed) for the deserving candidates and prove to be a milestone in the path of progress.
The college is affiliated to Gujarat University, Ahmedabad and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 2(f) 1955 & 12(B) in June 1955 under Act, 1956.
The college offers undergraduate programme i.e. Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) as per the norms of National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with "A" Grade - (CGPA Score 3.30 on a 4 Point Scale in 2nd Cycle) in February 2016.
The college was established by the Ahmedabad Education Society with the help of a donation by Acharatlal Charities. The donation was purely dedicated for running education of various kinds of in-service training programmes and to strengthen classroom teaching of the 21st century. B.Ed. course comprises a platform to enhance and enrich innate capabilities lying in the trainees, by organizing various co-curricular activities.
The institute offers one year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course for those who have completed their graduation with minimum aggregate of 50% from any recognized university are eligible to apply for this course.
Students here are admitted who completed their graduation from recognized university with at least 50% marks in major or in aggregate at the Degree level. But Scheduled Castes (S.C.), Scheduled Tribes (S.T.) & (O.B.C) candidates are to be entitled with a relaxation 5% marks ineligibility for admission.
