The section co-ordinates the activities of this
association, which comprises persons who have studied in Britain,
either privately or under British Council auspices. This allows
them to network with one another and have a common platform to debate
and discuss topics of mutual interest, as well as organize cultural
and social events.
The recent events have included lectures by Sir
David Gore-Booth - British High Commissioner to India, T N Seshan
- Former Chief Election Commissioner of India and Dr Karan Singh.
Dance, drama, debates, quizzing, music and seminars have been other
events organised by the ABS.
The ABS North India Chapter has now integrated
with similar chapters in other regions of India to sustain a uniform
approach and gather information on a larger pool of British alumni
in India. Other ABS chapters exist in Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad,
Bangalore, Thiruvananthapuram, Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Calcutta.
