All 6 NPS Schools In Bengaluru & Mysuru Get Back CBSE Affiliation

CBSE has restored the affiliation of all the 6 NPS schools in Bengaluru and Mysuru. These schools were earlier accused of forging and producing fake minority certificates.

The Central Board of Secondary Education has reportedly restored the affiliation to the 6 schools of the NPS group. These schools 5 in Bengaluru and 1 in Mysuru were stripped off their CBSE affiliation recently. Being accused of forging and producing fake minority certificates, revoking of the ban by the CBSE comes in as a huge relief.

Accusing the NPS schools of forging and producing fake minority certificates, the CBSE had withdrawn affiliation of six schools belonging to the National Public School Group on September 7, 2016. [Read the complete story here]

The schools are listed below:

  • National Public School in Rajajinagar,
  • National Public School in Indiranagar,
  • National Public School in Koramangala,
  • National Public School in H.S.R. Layout,
  • National Public School in Mysuru,
  • National Academy for Learning in Basaveshwara Nagar

According to reports, the Chairman of NPS Group of Schools said, "CBSE has restored affiliation to the schools with immediate effect. Our students will continue to follow the CBSE syllabus, and appear for the board exams as scheduled."

"We are continuing to pursue all legal processes, challenging the allegations made against NPS," Gopalakrishna stated.

He also wrote to the parents of the students of NPS saying that the school will function normally and will follow the CBSE syllabus.

The issue came to light in February this year when the National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions wrote to the Commissioner for Public Instruction pointing out that the minority certificates produced by the schools under the group were forged. An FIR was filed against the school in Mysuru.

Earlier in August, the Department of Public Instruction had directed CBSE to withdraw affiliation as the schools had dodged the 25% reservation under the RTE quota by forging and producing fake minority certificates.

The letter had stated: "The management of these schools have violated the RTE Act and are indulging in fraudulent means in order to circumvent the provisions of the RTE Act and are involved in criminal activities. Hence, this is a request to withdraw the CBSE affiliation of the schools and to take any further action as per extant rules."

Meanwhile, everything is normal with the NPS Group but what about the case?
